Platinum metal coating when applied on titanium substrate, the coating has an extremely low consumption rate. As a result of this low consumption rate, the wire diameter remains nearly constant during the life time of the platinized titanium wire anode.

The platinum coating used on titanium wire is suitable for most of the cathodic protection applications, but output varies with application. TiTaN's Platinum plated titanium wire anodes have very high chemical stability, even in environments with low pH values. The platinum coating of the platinized titanium wire anode is not affected by the generation of chlorine ,unlike other impressed current anodes.
